Here is my Liability write-up, which had been posted months earlier to the newsgroup by Keith Spurgeon. I was not comfortable posting to the newsgroup openly at the time, and he helped me get this out on a.r.s. I'll repost it here since I don't have my PTS declare. This document clearly shows the reason why I was put into "lowered conditions"- or ethics conditions below "non-existence". Before a Scientologist does a "liability formula", s/he must first have violated the rules of the group of Scientologists. Well, the rules that I violated included holding "material hostile to Scientology in my possession unbeknownst to my fellow Scientologists", and having "read this material". The material that I held "unbeknownst to my fellow Scientologists" and then read included postings to this newsgroup as well as the books "A Piece of Blue Sky" and "Religion Inc." I was required to turn this material over to the Director of Special Affairs of my Org, and later was told to write an account of every piece of entheta material I had held regarding Scientology and to explain precisely how I had disposed of it, had I not turned it over to the DSA. When a Scientologist is put into "lowered conditions" s/he is not allowed per L Ron Hubbard's policy to receive auditing- amongst other penalties pertinent to the condition assigned. Again, this is undesirable for Scientologists, as Scientology auditing is one's "route to total freedom", and per the new "Orientation" film, without Scientology one is doomed to "shivering, agonizing darkness" for the next trillion years. Under these conditions and other mechanisms of mind control employed in Scientology, most Scientologists would turn in their books and a.r.s. postings (printed) unquestioningly, as I did (well, I did question...). The Executive Director recommend that I write letters to the editors of various papers in the vicinity to strike an effective blow to the enemies of the group of Scientology- written on behalf of the Task Force for Freedom and Responsibility on the Internet, a Scientology front group. That was because my infractions against the group of Scientologists had been in part due to my reading material from alt.religion.scientology. Here goes (it is posted in the form as it appeared earlier on the newsgroup):
------------------------ Liability write-up [Name Deleted]
(1) My friends are those Scientologists who act to help themselves and others progress toward the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics. My friends are members of the group of Scientologists.
I have violated the rules of the group by the following acts:
-Wavered in my loyalty to Scientology itself. -Held material hostile to Scientology in my possession, unbeknownst to my fellow Scientologists. -Read this material.
By doing a Doubt condition, I decided that I was a member of this group, and to (2) deliver an effective blow to the enemies of the group I:
-Wrote 14 letters to newspaper editors in [names of cities deleted]. The letter was written for publication in the editorial sections, and covered the issue of copyright violations occurring on the Internet. I was writing on behalf of the Task Force for Responsibility and Freedom on the Internet, a Scientology organization. These were mailed 13 August.
(3) I did the following to make up the damage done to the group by my actions:
-Mocked up the space for the Sea Org Missionaires. * -Steam cleaned the carpet and both rugs in the 2nd Reg Office. -Paid $111.70 from mine and my wife's account to cover for the catering at the [city deleted] workshop. -Held "host" hat at the [city deleted] workshop. Sold Dianetics ExtensionCourse to [name deleted]. -Passed out 2000 pieces of promo. -Wrote 125 letters. -Washed windows upstairs, all the way around the org. (did not wash the reg office's windows, because they'd been done recently) -Folded 350 promotional letters for the 19 August Dianetics Workshop.
All the above is done;
(4) Please consider this as an application for re-admission into the group of Scientologists.
(19 Scientologists signed in approval) ' (0 signed in disapproval)
