Your typical California desert rattle snake. I suggest folks to not step on these guys. One will find these just about every where, but this one was laying on the West side of the rock, facing sun set. This makes her position sunward, so that she would be warmer. Rattle Snakes use the sun's heat to help digestion. When hiking the desert, one should always look where one is placing one's feet. |
