Lately my boyfriend and I have been getting along so-so it angers him that when he calls I am either not home or to far to hear the phone, he talls me that I better be here at a certain time because he hates waiting, and this is so weird because he is so sweet, but his emotional outbursts are a problem.

His attempts to control you by "ordering" you to be by the phone at specific times is bordering on emotional abuse. You do not have to live your life according to his schedule.
Has he ever put you down (called you stupid, ordered you to do something, etc.) in front of your friends/family? Has he ever hit you, pushed you, etc. during an argument? If so, you're heading down a path to an abusive relationship. He can change if he wants to, but statistics on abusers who "reform" themselves are not encouraging. Many discover they've got too much to change and don't bother trying.
Good luck to you!
